Hello
I have a question about floor joists. I removed a floor that was directly on the joists (22 mm, chipboard with thin parquet on top, so it was a unit laid floating). After that, I have added some battens, improved the insulation, and will install chipboard and then parquet.
Now to the question; do I need to add battens along the outer wall to support the chipboard? This would create a thermal bridge along the entire outer wall in that case, and it wasn't done in the previous construction.
In the picture, it's the right edge that's in question. The boards will be laid in the direction of the tape measure, so it's the support for the long side of the board that's in question.
Kind regards
