I'm about to start building my grill area/outdoor kitchen but I'm a bit unsure about the dimensions...
My wife doesn't want it to look too bulky, which is often a risk when building yourself, you might overdo it with the timber... At least I do.
What I'm thinking is, on the inner wall three posts of 2x 45x95 to create a natural support for a beam that I thought of as 45x120 - just over 3 m long. On the other long side, however, it's only planned to have 2 posts, one in each corner - so 3m in between. Is 45x120 sufficient there too or do I need to upgrade to 45x145 since it's a 3 m span?
And then roof rafters 45x120 with 1.8 m between the support points. Or is 45x95 sufficient there and maybe just place them closer together? The roof covering will probably be tongue-and-groove boards + felt.
