Hello, I have received a drawing for a frame that I need to nail together. However, I'm contemplating a few things that are NOT included in the documents, which maybe there is knowledge about in this group:
1. Frame nail 3.1x90mm, is it better with grooved nails without glue or smooth nails with glue? According to ChatGPT, smooth nails with glue provide the best fastening in this case, but preferably annular ring shank nails. What do people say? What is usually used for studs?
2. If the drawing states this way. What type of sheet metal is usually used then?
3. What type of fastening is usually used to attach the sill plate to the concrete slab, i.e., also the dimension?
4. How do you best attach the floor joists, and what is important to consider when purchasing?
5. What is usually used to attach the roof trusses to the wall plate/ridge, and what is important to consider when purchasing?
There are many questions, but one wants to do it right.
If someone has tips on where I can find this information to rely on, so that the correct dimensions are obtained, please feel free to share it.
