I am going to install interior walls in the garage and I'm considering whether to put OSB first and then gypsum on top, or if I should just use plywood.

This will only be painted.

I'm thinking that gypsum is sensitive in a garage, if you bump into it, etc.

Price-wise, it is essentially the same.

Plywood if the fire protection becomes sufficient

I don't know anything about fire protection, but it's a detached garage if that makes any difference.

How close is it to the main building? Or other buildings? That could determine whether you need to consider fire rating of the walls.

Otherwise, I would just go with plywood.

It is approximately 3 meters to the nearest building.

You can read the table here and see if you meet the requirements for fire protection. In principle, it should not be a problem if you do not have windows or doors nearby.

Fire protection is an aspect I hadn't even considered in this context. Thanks for the info, will take a closer look at it.

I installed Plannja S18 zinc gray, walls and in the garage.
