The doors to the basement entrance have rotted away and need replacing. It's a stair down and 2 doors at a 45-degree angle to the ground if you understand what I mean. The doors that rotted were made of regular råspont, which makes the doors quite heavy. The question is if OSB board can now be used instead? Is it enough if you paint it and will it hold up? There will be some snow on the doors during the winter and they will be completely exposed to rain and bad weather. Will the OSB board absorb moisture and get destroyed? Is there another type of board with good durability that can be used if OSB isn't suitable, like marine plywood?

I wouldn't bet on OSB or construction plywood, but marine/form plywood might work, although it will warp if you don't build a frame for the board to be mounted on. However, if it's meant to be painted, function as burglary protection, and look good, I would go for tongue and groove even if the doors become heavier. I saw somewhere someone who had a door opening mechanism with a pulley and block...
An entirely different option is to enclose the staircase and install a regular door, so you avoid lots of snow, rain, and moisture trying to get into your basement...
