I will have a 2.5 in ceiling height in the new house and am wondering where I can find OSB panels in the right size, it seems like only 2440 is available in regular hardware stores. Can one place a special order or can a carpenter purchase in other dimensions and what is the usual price?

Fredricsons have 2700mm long OSB. They are wholesalers so you can order these from a better timber merchant.

Lay the discs down to minimize waste.

Hmm, it never occurred to me that you could lay them down, but now that you mention it, it sounds quite logical... 1200 is the standard width so it's not entirely ideal for a 2500 ceiling, but I'll think about it.

You can put a small strip at the top, whether you choose landscape or portrait. It doesn't matter much.

It was for this exact reason (couldn't find any 2500 OSB) that I bought 12mm chipboard instead.

Lay OSB when installing the floor. Minimize waste. Later add the surface layer (gypsum?) in such a way that no seams overlap. No need to complicate things more than necessary!

Start by cutting a board into 8-9cm strips and place them at the bottom, then place a 2,4 board on top.

When splicing like that, do you need to bother with kortling or does it work without? And do you need to have a distance of a few millimeters between the board pieces?

If you want good load-bearing capacity in it, it's good to use kortla, but what should you hang on the wall 10cm up that requires it?

You should always have a small gap between OSB boards.
You don't need noggings, but if it feels better, drive a few extra screws through the gypsum on each side of the joint.
