Going to plan the interior of the upper floor. Today, the insulation is in the future intermediate floor. That is, everything needs to be done. Insulation -> Finished.
Does anyone have tips on the appropriate order for the different tasks?
We plan to do some things ourselves and hire craftsmen for others. So to get a working plan and rough timelines, I need help with the appropriate order.

Working on a similar project. In broad strokes, I've roughly followed the following order:
- Ventilation, insulation, vapor barrier, and battening in sloped ceiling
- Vapor barrier, battening, insulation in ceiling joist
- Install windows (roof windows + facade windows). This can actually be done earlier or later.
- Build dormer (I don't know if you will do this - of course, it should be taken into account during preparation of sloped ceiling and ceiling joist)
- Lay extra joists under bathroom in place, but do not fix them (to facilitate the plumber)
- Let the plumber run pipes to radiators and bathroom. Floor drains are placed directly on the joists.
- Fix the extra joists under the bathroom
- Ensure that all pipes to be in the floor joist are completed (electricity, network, antenna, telephone, alarm). Insulation that has been removed should be put back for soundproofing purposes.
- Lay floor chipboard (at some point during this step, I had to saw a large hole where the staircase is to be and close the old attic hatch - think through how wide a stairwell you want)
- Build walls. Remember to drywall the sloped ceiling in the small attic areas before building the kneewalls. Only put boards on one side of the walls, to be able to run electricity. Also remember fresh air vents.
- Hire a tiler, plumber, and electrician to fix the bathroom
- The electrician runs electricity
- Put boards on the other sides of the walls.
- Put boards in the ceiling
- Spackle and sand
- Build staircase. I have chosen to wait this long with the staircase because the very dusty steps are only now over, and there is a high risk of making ugly marks in your new staircase if you carry large heavy planks and boards in it.
- Paint ceiling, wallpaper, lay floor, put up baseboards and moldings
I'm now at the point where I'm building interior walls (but have spread out the order a bit, so the bathroom is already completely finished and functional). I started the project in December 2009, and hope and believe that some of the rooms will be ready to move in before the end of the year. Everything has taken much longer than I thought, even though I knew everything would take longer than I thought. But we've had twins, regular jobs, and done other projects during that time as well, so under different circumstances, it could already have been finished.
