Now the ceiling panel is in place and finished. I'm very satisfied with Panel & List who had great service and delivered everything on time with good quality. We first treated the panel with stain and then a layer of Osmo Wax to get a slightly grayer tone. It's still a bit too glossy but seems to dull with time.
What wasn't so successful was the sliding door from Hajom on the right in the picture. The quality is top-notch, but we had ordered a "teak-colored" one. They delivered more of a walnut color and claim that it falls within normal color variation. We'll see if we can do something about it by sanding and re-oiling.

It turned out very nice! How did you mount the panels? On what kind of substrate?

What kind of wood is the panel made of? And size? Many knots?
Facing a major renovation and looking for a wood panel with few knots, preferably a bit wider, like 120-150mm.
It turned out great! How did you mount the panels? On what surface?
It was our craftsmen who mounted them, so I'm not too familiar with the details, but I did see that they placed beams perpendicular to the panel to which they attached it.
God, how beautiful with the wooden ceiling!
We are facing a similar renovation and wonder what it cost to take it from a sawmill?
We did according to the same plans as above but used pine from Panel & list, the same as the thread creator. We ended up at just over 33,000 SEK for 35.5 sqm. The shipping was 4,500 SEK of the total amount. This was 2022.
Incredibly fun thread and impressive results. We have just bought a 60s villa with wood paneling in the ceiling. Unfortunately, a previous owner has painted all the paneling stark white. Would have liked a natural color similar to the above. Now considering whether we should order new paneling to put up. I guess it will be cheaper and easier than trying to remove all the paint. I think we're talking about maybe 70-80 sqm in total.
I've got an approximate price idea for the material above, but may I ask roughly how many hours the craftsmen spent installing your ceiling panels?

I definitely think it's cheaper to put up new panels than to remove the paint from the existing ones. I'm not sure about the exact time our craftsmen spent, but it went pretty quickly. Approximately two days to put up the panels and then another day for the finishing touches around power outlets.
20000 after root for about 60sqm (a bit of haggling but they only needed about two days for two people). That included electrical outlets plus recessed lighting tracks to adapt for.
Personally, I would have bought new paneling instead of removing the paint...the paneling can contain two thousand knots and might not look very nice.
