Need to remove a window frame for renovation and need to fix something to cover the opening for at least a week.

I attempted to create a quick 3D model to show how I was thinking of doing it.

Must be mounted from the inside.

Materials:
OSB board
45x45 timber
straps
some type of wood screws
silicone strip

Cut the board so it's slightly larger than the outer frame dimension.
Cut the timber and screw it onto the board as a frame so that a bit of the board protrudes on all sides.
Put a silicone strip on the outside of the frame so it seals against the facade.
I will run the strap under two of the timbers and then tighten the board with two additional timbers loosely attached inside the window frame.

Does this sound good?
Do I need to cover the OSB board with plastic or something to withstand moisture?
Should I put a piece of styrofoam on the inside for better insulation?

That should work fine, the OSB board can easily last a week without plastic. We had an OSB board for the window for more than half of last summer and it went well. I might have skipped the sealing strip, but it's clear that it draughts less with the sealing strip installed. If it gets cold, you can insert styrofoam into the frame according to the tip in the first thread that thomas33 suggested. I hadn't seen the second thread before, but next summer when we hopefully renovate the rest of the windows, I might make one of those umbrellas that's suggested there.
