Hello!

I have a problem. The wall I planned to hang the flat-screen TV on at home is a drywall with metal studs.

Are there screws/plugs that can handle this? I've previously worked with brick and concrete, but steel and drywall in combination feel like a tricky challenge. I don't want the TV to come loose and fall down due to the weight.

Has anyone done such a mounting, and how did you do it?

Weight of the TV?

Google Molly bolt or Toggler. They hold most things.

Molly is perfect for that. Make sure you use the right kind depending on whether you have single or double gypsum. Also, buy a tool to make it easier to install them.

It is a 48-inch TV. Should weigh 11 kg according to the specs.

The wall consists of 13 mm plasterboard - 45 mm steel stud - 13 mm plasterboard, according to the house documentation.

No problem. I believe a single drywall anchor M6 can hold at least 20 kg. Secure the mount with four of those and it should be fine.

This only applies when the TV is hanging directly on the wall. If there is any form of articulating arm or similar that creates leverage, the forces will be completely different.

As mentioned, it's easier to install if you have a molly tool. They usually have packages at places like Clas Ohlson.

This only applies when the TV is hanging directly on the wall. If there's any kind of swing arm or similar that creates leverage, it’s a different story.

As mentioned, it's easier to mount if you have a molly pliers. Usually available in packages at places like Clas Ohlson.
The TV will hang directly on the wall with the rail designed for this, i.e., no swing arms for tilting.

Definitely going to invest in such pliers. Thanks!
