I have just removed an old shabby corner washbasin in the guest toilet and will instead install a new one. The old washbasin was mounted with bolts, but when I took it down, I was surprised that it was only bolted to one wall. In the other, it was attached with a molly plug instead. The new washbasin should also be fastened with bolts, but the new bolts need to be placed a bit further into the corner for it to work. Using molly plugs is difficult because there's no space to access and screw underneath the washbasin. With bolts, it's manageable as you can first tighten with your fingers and then with a wrench.

But is it possible to fasten bolts in a drywall in some way? I'm unsure if there's OSB or something similar behind the drywall.

What do you think would be the problem with the molly plug now? They often have a metric thread so you can replace the included screw with a suitable screw.

Do you mean that there are bolts that can be inserted into a molly plug?

Yes, provided that the "Bolt" has the correct thread
