If it's the one on the left you mean, it could be casting residue you're referring to. Considering that it's used timber, it's not unlikely. I don't see any mold, anyway.
Could very well be some local mold spots, but it could also come from insects, or rodents or birds.
It's also not uncommon for some drifting snow to get in.
It looks like an older house, so any possible mold spots after 50 - 100 years indicate a functioning environment. (Okay, it's probably additionally insulated in more recent times so maybe more like 20 - 50 years, but it's still a fairly long time.)
If that's all there is in the attic, it doesn't seem to be any problems.

If that's everything in the attic, it doesn't seem to be any issues.

But we're planning to change the roof next year, so we'll replace the tongue and groove here. Our problem stems from a bad odor in the attic, but we've determined that it's the old insulation. Filled with old rårrgift since installation so it's a massive mouse graveyard up there.
