I am renovating my house.
These are the exterior walls I’m talking about, and they are made of brick (internally covered with plaster and externally with 100mm of styrofoam and plaster).
In one room, the wallpaper (with several layers of newspaper) was still there since the house was built in 1940, and there was a bit of mold behind it, which I assume is quite normal and should just be removed.
But in the other room, plasterboard had been nailed directly onto the wall, and there was a lot of mold behind them.
What do you think I should do?
The bricks are plastered, so I was thinking about this as a solution: remove all the plaster and put some kind of plastic spacers and then the plasterboard on top of those, creating a small air gap.
Can you do that or how are exterior walls made if you want to have plasterboard on them?
Best regards
