Hello!

We built our cabin extension last summer, adding the roof, windy, and outer panel. When we then halted construction for the winter, we just put up a temporary door. The windows were not installed at that time, only windy over those openings.

Now, when we checked the cabin this week, we were quite horrified to see a fair amount of mold, or maybe algae? on the frame material and parts of the roof's interior. What should we do? We can't just insulate and nail up drywall, hoping nothing happens, can we? How do we remove this?!

On larger surfaces, there were small black dots that clustered together. It seems to be worse on some boards for some reason. However, by the window, there was some green and "blisters" in some spots!!!

I guess we made it too airtight when we left the construction last fall...

Chlorine removes and hopefully also kills mold. Try scrubbing with chlorine on a Scotch brite sponge or similar.

If it's the wrong type of mold, it doesn't matter if you scrape it off. It will easily come back. Contact the professionals.

Hello!
I have experienced exactly what is being asked about. I am working on an extension that I've paused for the winter. I managed to put up the roof/roofing felt and paneling. However, no floor, windows, or inner ceiling. Today when I was there and checked, my interior looked exactly as described - more so on the inside of the roof than on the framework.

I am therefore interested in what/how you did and the result of it all. I'm considering if the product Mögel-fri would be sufficient?

Thanks in advance,
Göran
