Don't really know where this question belongs, but I'll try here.
We have a tiled balcony where the moisture barrier is no longer what it should be due to frost damages, etc.
We removed a roof over the balcony before we realized how bad the moisture barrier was. Then it started raining and raining and raining...
Now the moisture has penetrated the wall, resulting in wallpaper peeling, and the wallpaper paste has become moldy.
We have arranged for a metal worker to come and cover it with metal in the near future, and eventually, there will probably be a wooden deck on top of it.
We have tried to protect the balcony with a tarp, but the rainy winter has still found its way underneath and caused what I described above.
Should I be worried?
I have removed the wallpaper where it has come off and tried to wipe away the mold. How long might it take before the wall is dry enough to wallpaper again?
It's in the stair hall, and it's not the best place to have a construction heater.
I guess it's pretty much the same as when there's wallpaper peeling in the basement when drainage is poor.
I'm probably most worried about the mold.
