Hello!

I am planning to put up shelves on a lightweight concrete wall, according to the landlord there should be no wires or pipes in the wall. When I started drilling, I encountered metal a few centimeters in and thought it was rebar. I've borrowed a stud finder and according to it, the metal is very irregularly distributed in the wall (and quite a lot), contrary to how I thought rebar looks. Does anyone know what this could be due to, could the metal be something other than rebar? I'm considering whether with the right drill bit I should try to drill through, but I feel uncertain since I don't really know what it is. The house was built in the late 40s. Grateful if anyone has any idea!

Could be old electrical conduits, in the past they were made of metal.
Wonder if it's possible to check...

I had the same in my apartment built in 1944. Now and then metal has appeared when I've drilled holes or when I chiseled in the kitchen.

I don't think it's old pipes, I rather believe that they dumped the reinforcement scraps when they did the casting. I've only had small pieces and they've appeared completely random.

Check the old drawings of the house and you'll see where the pipes are located. I went to some kind of archive and accessed the drawings. It might have been called the stadsbyggnadsarkivet?
