Hi!
I intend to create an opening between the living room and the kitchen - length about 1.5 m with about 30 cm left towards the ceiling. Non-load-bearing. I would prefer a clean construction without moldings and trims - i.e., straight corners and edges, while I want the opening to extend all the way to the exterior wall. I understand that the stump against the ceiling might need some support. Is it best to make a temporary reinforcement and then (after removal) attach one part of a horizontal beam to the exterior wall and the other as it fits?
Or is the solution in the picture (borrowed from this forum) an alternative? In that case, with recessed angles against the exterior wall. Wall nine cm with 1.5 cm plaster on each side and something dark gray in the middle.
Thanks in advance!
