Maximize storage, HELP!

I recently moved into an apartment where the closet has a somewhat "awkward" shape (the picture shows the floor area) and I'm not really sure how to maximize storage. I'm thinking of storing clothes/shoes/maybe some boxes there. Right now, the closet is just an empty room with bare walls. I'm considering some shelves but I also want to be able to hang clothes on hangers somewhere. Does anyone have good suggestions/ideas? Very grateful for all responses :D
