Hello,

I have just poured a concrete slab of 40m2 to build a wind shelter for our horses. My plan is to lay one or two courses with some form of blocks, like leca, which I will then attach the walls to.

I have a few questions about this that someone might be able to answer?

1. My first question is whether it works with leca blocks? I'm mainly thinking about the horses moving inside and the shoveling with spades and forks that will hit the blocks. Do leca blocks withstand that? Or should I use something else? If so, what?

2. My second question concerns the actual masonry. Is reinforcement needed if it's just one or two courses of block? How should it be reinforced if necessary?

3. And finally, I'm wondering how I should attach the sill to the block I've used?

Grateful for any help I can get on this.
