Hello,

I am renovating my living room in the cottage built in 1921. Now I'm putting up framework and plasterboards to make the walls straight. I have now reached a wall that I believe has some type of plaster, and behind it, it is built with stone/brick.
The plaster does not withstand much and mostly crumbles.

What is the easiest way to attach studs to such a wall to make it hold?

Grateful for any help.

  • Old plaster wall crumbling over stonework, with exposed timber floor and insulation. Renovation challenges in 1921 cabin living room.
  • Old plastered stone wall with damaged surface showing exposed bricks, situated above a wooden floor with scattered debris.
Drill, fill the hole with glue, and then insert the spikplugg. That's how I would have done it.
