Magnets to keep kitchen cabinet door in place, how many and what adhesive force?
I need to use magnets to keep a kitchen cabinet door in place. The cabinet door has no hinges, so the only thing that will hold it in place is the magnets. However, I don't want to use magnets that are too strong, as I won't be able to open it. According to IKEA, the package with the cabinet door weighs 6.4 kg, so I assume the door itself weighs about 6 kg.
I plan to use at least 4 magnets (one in each corner). But what holding force should the magnets have?

I think you need really strong magnets if it's only the magnets that are supposed to hold it in place, i.e., also preventing it from sliding down. So strong that it will feel difficult to open it. However, if you can have an edge or ledge that the hatch rests against at the bottom, standard magnets will probably suffice.
OK, thanks for the good input. Will do so.
