Would like to store the caravan in the garage for the winter but the door (swing door) is 25cm too low.
Thinking about cutting out a hatch above the swing door that opens outward/upward.
Has anyone done something similar or have any thoughts/tips on this?
Of course, I need to cut the frame and place the frame head in the hatch.

The alternative is obviously to install a higher door but that would be significantly more expensive.

I guess I should show the result, it turned out okay. The hatch became a bit heavy so it takes two people to lift it up. Built from 45x120 studs, insulation, and plywood sheets. The lintel is at the bottom edge of the hatch. Now the caravan stands well inside there until spring.

White garage with open door showing a caravan inside. Built with 45x120 joists, insulation, and plywood. Sunlit exterior, car parked nearby.
