Accidentally drilled a hole for electricity in the wrong place through the entire house wall. How do I best close this 16mm hole? Sealant in the timber log might not be the best method.

16mm dowel and some wood glue should work well, right?

With an axe or possibly a carpenter saw or band saw, you can make a suggested 8-sided dowel with a couple of mm of excess size, taper it slightly at the end, and then hammer it into the log with a sledgehammer.

It's enough to insert a plug on the outside.

I have plugged a number of holes on one of our log houses. If it's newly drilled, then broom handles and wood glue are the easiest, but if it's a bit uneven, then roughly shaped cones have been simpler.
