Hi.

My sister-in-law and her partner are renovating.
Do you think they can tear down this wall or should it be replaced?
Maybe hard to tell from the picture but maybe someone has a clue. The frame is made of timber

When removing log walls, one must be very cautious, as it can cause the outer walls to start buckling. Log houses do not function at all like more modern houses when it comes to load-bearing walls. That's what I've learned here on the forum, at least. But for someone more knowledgeable to be able to say something, you probably need to at least show a floor plan.

The actual "partition wall" is not a log wall. However, there are log walls in the house that are partition walls that will not be touched.

One at least needs to see a scale-accurate blueprint.
