Hi!

I am in the process of building a new (vacation home) and have now had a plumber in for pipe installation for the bathroom and kitchen.
He wanted to use wall boxes for the through-passage. As an amateur, I feel it seems more uncertain than using regular wall support brackets and letting the pipe go entirely through the wall. Isn't there a risk that the pipe might "jump out" or not sit properly when using boxes? If it starts leaking, you also have no chance to notice it.

What do you who are knowledgeable in this think?

I'm not an expert but I have built bathrooms. I am convinced that "rör i rör" with properly installed boxes is a better/safer solution. For example, you don't have to break the waterproofing with screws when installing shower/bathtub mixers. Any leakage should be led through the outer pipe to a place where it is visible and does not cause immediate damage.

Agree with the above. Additionally, it is possible to replace a pipe in a wall box, often not in a wall bend support.
