As you can see in the picture, the surface is a bit uneven and also slopes as there is a drop of about 2-3 cm from one side of the doorway to the other. What is suitable to build up with to level the threshold for the storage door? Fine concrete/coarse concrete? I would prefer not to have a threshold that is too high, but I realize that some thickness might be required if using concrete to prevent it from cracking. Are there other options?
If you first mount the door using spacers underneath to align it, place spacers so you have at least a 5 mm clearance at the highest point of the floor, allowing the concrete to flow out there as well. Then remove the spacers once the door is in place. You will then need to place a board or similar form on both sides of the door. You should place one about 10 mm out from the threshold to allow the concrete to flow in. Then, underpour the door with expanding concrete. It can be mixed to become almost like self-leveling compound. It's advantageous to use a watering can or similar for easier aiming into the form. Then simply pour the concrete into the form and let it set before starting to walk over the threshold. It sets quite quickly, and mix it a little looser than what’s indicated on the package, at least if it’s Weber's expanding concrete; it should be like self-leveling compound.
