Hello.
I have pallet collars in my greenhouse with leca blocks underneath for height. I plan to put soil on top. My question is whether the leca blocks absorb water when I water the soil, if they retain moisture? (If not, I plan to add pine cones).
Regards, Lena

They won't absorb any noticeable amount of moisture. Consider sealing the bottom and a bit up the sides with plastic/pond liner to create a water reservoir?

Thanks, I think it's good to have permeability in the soil but now I know that the lecablocken don't absorb much moisture.

Thank you, I believe that water permeability in the ground is good but now I know that the lecablock don't absorb much moisture.
As long as it drains out to the sides, permeability downwards isn't necessary.

Thanks, I'll place the blocks towards the middle.
