Hello!
I have elevated my raised garden bed in the greenhouse with cinder blocks, planning to pour soil on top.
I wonder if the cinder blocks absorb water when I water so that they retain some moisture? If not, I plan to place pine cones on top of the cinder blocks to retain moisture in the soil.
Best regards, Växthuslena

The Lecablocken are relatively draining, so they will not contribute much to water retention.
Are pine cones something that is usually used to retain moisture? Which cones are used in that case?

Cones also hold water poorly, they can advantageously be used instead of leca balls at the bottom of pots.

Check out hügelbädd instead, where the bed is based with coarse wood that retains moisture and breaks down slowly.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking of using pinecones that also fill out the bottom in that case.

The lecablocks will absorb moisture and dry out the soil. Just like clay pots dry out the soil more than plastic pots.
