Hello,

I have a floor heat pump that has been in the house since I bought it 3 years ago. Now that I am thinking of enclosing it (with a hatch), I noticed a little water in one of the connections. It looks and feels like the water is actually leaking from the top of the chrome part:

The pump looks like this:

The connection side looks a bit different, but you can at least see that there hasn't been any leakage there:

Considering how it looks right where it's leaking a little, I suspect it's been like this for quite some time. You can also see under the actual connection that it has probably dripped down from it at some point:

Do I need to get a plumber here to fix this, or would it suffice to simply tighten it myself? And if so, how do I do this without damaging anything? Can I use an adjustable wrench on each part (one on the motor and one on the chrome part)?

Just saw a drop coming from the large nut and running down the chrome part and further down. So the leak seems to be between the large nut and the chrome part.

Is it safe to tighten this on my own?

it should be fine., it is a locknut with a rubber gasket in it.

Okay, so which one should I be unscrewing? The chrome part, I suspect? That is, the one that doesn't really look like a motter?

Check the sketch and take it a bit carefully, if it's not tight just take it apart and fix it.
