Need to create a feed to the outlet on the kitchen island. How is this best solved in a floating floor? Just groove a track in the floor chipboard? Or will it become unstable and cause flexing in the floor if you groove the chipboard layer?
I would preferably remove the boards needed and groove a track underneath, in the insulation. But can it be done smoothly without damaging the chipboards?
They aren't nailed but presumably glued down. Can it be done without having to redo the whole room with new chipboard?

In my case, the chipboard is glued together and also glued to the foam insulation.
If you could saw even cuts, nice straight pieces all the way, and the foam isn't very thick, maybe they can be lifted.
But it sounds tricky.
Of the options you mentioned, I would probably router grooves in the chipboard.
