I am in the process of building a new kitchen and renovating the apartment. After taking down all the wallpaper, there are several larger holes and cracks, especially around the ventilation, that I need to fill in. What material should I use? Attached is an image
It depends a bit on what you're going to do, wallpaper or?
If I interpret the picture correctly, it looks like plasterboard that has had chunks come off.
In that case, you can pick off all the loose pieces and fill it with wall filler. Use fiberglass strips to reinforce it.
If you're also going to wallpaper, I recommend "easycover," which is a kind of fiberglass-reinforced "pre-wallpaper" that is hard and provides a very smooth surface. You might need to go to a paint store to find staff who know what it is.
I think it looks like lightweight concrete. A gypsum- or cement-based wall filler is what I would use. Then fine filling with regular sand filler if it is going to be painted or wallpapered. It might also be wise to reinforce with some form of fabric, as BAS suggests.
had similar problems in my hallway. talked to an old concrete worker at work and got a bag of repair mix. and can just say that here it levels so easy to work with and sticks great on everything
I'm not completely sure what to buy. I want to go to k-rauta and get a bag/bucket of something so I can fix cracks with it. Does anyone have a name for what I should ask for?
Finja 360, Ardex 828, Casco Husfix, Maxit Väggspackel Snabb Fin 0-50, Maxit Väggspackel 0-100 for example. There are two hundred more, but I can't be bothered to write them..
