As always pretty rushed, there's no time for planning ahead :D
Crazy that the stuff they sell can't be used sensibly
How can it be rushed?
You've been renovating an apartment for 3 years....

Therefore, it's extra important to get things done once things start moving. Unfortunately, it's not just the apartment one has to manage; there's also running a business, contributing to the open source network, writing a blog, being a family man, and finding time to eat good food at a restaurant. Busy times, simply put.

Just like for all of us others, who hang out here on the forum. One has to do this and one has to do that and the third thing and... and then the day is over.

Planed wood you buy at the hardware store has almost always warped and probably doesn't maintain the quality you're looking for. You'll have the same problem if you buy two pieces and screw/glue them together, unless you have a jointer/planer at hand. Regarding Holm, they're not so keen on private customers as I understand it, but I might be wrong. Unfortunately, my Christmas holiday has started; otherwise, I might have been able to help you.

We have been satisfied with the planed oak we bought at the hardware store, but pine might warp more?

Any tips on where a private person can buy it of decent quality?

So... have you ever walked into a wholesaler and said you're starting something up and need to survey? You want to buy some product samples and experiment. You have ideas. Of course, you can't be specific. Nothing should come out

Or any of the half-truths you can come up with to buy from the nomenclature stores. Trust me. If you just give them an opening, they'll want to make money by selling to you too.

Best regards, Findus

Thanks for the tip with planed wood, it works really well, and you can adjust the rabbet according to the door leaf to compensate for some warping in old doors. It actually works really well.

Edit: However, it takes us about a week per frame, which is a bit slow.
