The question is, how do you do it?

Can you just cut with the utility knife as you wish and then gently snap? I did that with regular drywall, but with glasroc, I do NOT want to mess up. Each sheet costs 350 pix, so it has to be right the first time.

Should you prop it in a specific way when you need to snap it?

I also want to have a full sheet over the door, meaning to cut the door out of the sheet—is this even possible? I've never tried this with regular drywall either.

Grateful for input!

No one who knows or has tried? The only thing I can think of is the jigsaw.

Just to clarify what you want done. You want to cut the panel to fit around a doorway or window, etc.?

A regular handsaw that you aren't too worried about works fine for cutting plasterboard. I have no experience with how the fiberglass layer on the panels behaves. Try on a smaller piece just to be safe. A jigsaw might also work, but it can be difficult to cut straight. Keep in mind that the plaster dust can be tough on the jigsaw, so don't use your new expensive saw...

You've got it absolutely right. Then I want an L-shaped one also, but over a door, of course.

Sounds about as tedious as I imagined. Was hoping for a clever shortcut ;)

I was at an information session about Glasroc that Gyproc held for construction companies. According to them, the Glasroc board should be handled just like a regular gypsum board. That is, it should be possible to cut it with the gypsum knife as usual. However, I have not used Glasroc yet.

It works like regular gypsum, but don't forget gloves when working, the fibers are sharp.
