Joist bottom board as subfloor

I am installing vinyl flooring and need to find a suitable material to use as an underfloor to achieve the same height as my parquet.

I need something about 6mm thick and found this at Byggmax:

Perfect, I thought, but the thing is that the board smells very strong and now I'm worried if it will continue to smell after I've laid the flooring over it. The odor almost gave me a headache...

Any tips on alternative materials or if you think the smell will subside once it's enclosed by the vinyl flooring?

Place a 0.2mm construction plastic on the substrate so the smell can't penetrate..
Masonite always smells..
