Join lintel, how?

Hello everyone

I'm in the process of nailing up the new panel on the house and have started thinking about how I should join the flashing above the long window section.

I haven't found flashing that is long enough, so I need to join two shorter pieces.

What's the best way to do this?

- Just overlap them a bit
- Overlap and glue with something
- Cut the metal in a clever way so that the ends fit together, if so, how.
- A completely different way

Grateful for tips and tricks.

I have overlapped and then cut the front edge in a clever way so that the two parts can be pushed together. I no longer remember exactly how I cut it, but surely someone else can explain.

Same as above + a bit of silicone/latex in the joint and it will be perfect
