Is it possible to scarf joint with a router panel and fascia boards lengthwise and how is the durability?

Is it possible to finger joint yourself.
Most building suppliers around here have 7 meter lengths in stock, both white and unpainted. So it shouldn't be a problem to get hold of. Making joints yourself is probably quite difficult.

It is clear that it is possible, I myself would not want to attempt joining ridge boards as it usually turns out ugly and becomes a place where it starts to rot.

do you splice end to end?

No, it rots easily on bargeboards

do you buy pre-jointed from the building supply store then when they aren't long enough?

I saw my own timber, if I needed longer than I can produce myself I would contact, for example, Derome to buy long unjointed timber.

I have cut 6.5 m and 9 m on an old solosåg so what are you cutting with and how long do you need?
