For a few weeks now, something began to bang on the ceiling. First a little gently. Then harder and harder. And more often.
It is the worst in the living room. Where the ceiling is 3.80 meters high.
The house is a Myresjöhus = wood with roof tiles from 2005.

It sounds very loud. As if someone is in the attic hitting the chimney with a heavy plastic mallet.

Yesterday, the house almost vibrated. It sounded as if someone dragged a heavy beam (scraping for about 1 second) twice. Very unpleasant!

My friend decided to record it.
He managed to record 2 hits. Not the scraping sound.

It always starts after 12:30 pm.

Called FB. They said I should investigate this myself.

The same was said by an inspector to me. He didn't even want to come and take a look...

Edit. I have no idea how to attach an audio file...

There is likely a loose sheet on the roof, when it bangs go out and take a look. It usually shows quite well what is moving, it could be any sheet that has come a bit loose. Securing it is usually simple. It is part of the normal maintenance one does oneself as a homeowner.

We have been up there and tugged on the sheets. Didn't hear anything though. Everything seems ok. What you're saying sounds plausible.

It's pounding hard. Barely audible from the outside. Even if you're standing by the chimney.
A lot on the inside. About 1 meter from the chimney.

I think I need to find a better inspector...
