Since we have had problems with rats and mice in the house, we have checked where they might have gotten in, and after removing a beam to the garage, it is clear that there is open insulation between the beams....

Even between the "extension" and into the main house, there is open insulation, and it should be easy for animals to get in. Now it is open on one side, but still.

How much should be sealed and if so, how?

Lived here for three years and this is not immediately visible, could it be a hidden defect?

Thanks in advance

  • Open insulation between garage beams, exposing potential entry point for rodents in a building. Brick and wood structures visible.
  • Exposed insulation and wooden beams above a brick wall, showing potential entry points for rodents into the house.
No, not a hidden flaw

What do you mean you will demand compensation for? Two boards and some drev?

If you really want to mouse-proof, perforated sheet metal is the option.
