Hi

I'm considering opening up this room by removing the wall in the middle of the picture in depth + parts of the wall on the left (on the drawing, the one at "3,40"). The ceiling appears to have been installed before the walls, and I can't find any studs (only regular framing) with my stud finder, which has led me to believe that the ceiling construction is self-supporting.

What do you think in the forum? Is it safe to take down the wall, or is it load-bearing?

Architectural drawing of a house with a section highlighting potential wall removal areas; evaluating if the roof is self-supporting. Living room with slanted wooden ceiling, abstract painting on left wall, and furniture visible; question about removing middle wall.

Yes, they can probably be considered self-supporting. A kind of variant on trusses. They seem to have lasted quite a long time as well.
