Is it okay to have wind barrier in interior walls?
Hello...
We are redoing our laundry room, and instead of wallpaper or the like, we are thinking of having paneling on the wall... Or horizontal timber slats with about 5 mm spacing, which we then paint...
Now to the question... Is it okay to have wind barrier paper behind the "panel"? It's a simple and stylish way to get a black background for the planks... The same is planned for the ceiling...
Are there any rules or issues preventing this? I'm mostly thinking about fire risk or the like since the paper will be around some spotlights in the ceiling...
Or is there any other material that would be more suitable for this?
Feel free to share your thoughts and call me out for any silly ideas
regards

thank you
today it's going up anyway... it will be a bit different on the ceiling because of the spotlights, there I only place strips of the wind protection so it just covers the gap between the planks... all to be on the safe side

Black-painted masonite also works very well
