... when it comes to strength. So laminated beams withstand load better than regular k24 timber with the same dimensions. The reason I'm asking is that in the house where we live, they have removed a patio door and replaced it with a nearly 3-meter window section. Therefore, the load-bearing post that was at the patio door is gone, and they probably haven't reinforced for the removal of this post, which has caused the roof to sink down by a few centimeters (probably the gap between the window frame and the beam the window frame is sitting in).

Now that I'm going to renovate the room, I'm thinking of reinforcing it so that the settlement disappears, but since there isn't a lot of space between the window frame and the roof trusses, I'm wondering if laminated beams can withstand more pressure than regular timber of the same dimensions. I want to get as strong a beam as possible into this space, which is approximately 25-30 centimeters high.

It should be enough with k24 timber at 195 or 220 mm. Otherwise, a steel beam is also an option.
