Hello,
I have just torn out some old (non-load-bearing!) wooden walls in my basement. The wood was mounted directly on the concrete floor and was black on the underside. I was thinking of replacing them with some moisture-resistant solution. Does anyone have any good tips?

It's an old house (1926). Steel studs are therefore not preferred directly...
Thanks for the help
Olivier

You can put plastic under the decking.
Or raise the decking with thin spacer blocks.
In plastic, available in different thicknesses.

Was the low baseboard placed directly on the floor?
I am building a hobby room in the basement with a wooden wall, and I have cast a base of about 1dm high, then placed a sill pad and then a sill board. What do you think about this?

Pitch felt of tar?

Best regards, Putte

Yes exactly, do you think it will work? Planning to then cover it with morapanel

Thank you for all the posts! What about disc material? What do you think?

Would have preferred building plastic instead of the tar paper. It's not something we usually use inside. For boards, I would have chosen OSB and plasterboard.

Best regards, Putte

You might as well build up the walls.

I'm not letting any wooden studs into my basement :)

Lightweight concrete blocks or what would you use?
