Hi,
I am planning to insulate a floor structure (195 mm) and have looked around a bit, and I would like cellulose insulation. I've come across both Ekofiber and EkoVilla (which I initially thought were exactly the same).
The room that needs insulation right now is about 4.8 x 4 meters, and the contractor (Sjömarkens insulation, http://www.sjomarkensisolering.se/) for Ekofiber (www.ekofiber.se) gave me a price of 5600 SEK including everything. Another supplier of EkoVilla (http://www.ekovilla.com/svenska/index.html), Kummel (www.kummel.se) gave me a price of 2500 SEK including everything.
The only question is what the difference is between Ekofiber and EkoVilla...
Does anyone have experience with both?
Could it be guarantees or the content of borates or something else that makes them different?
Best regards,
Daniel

...we insulated with yesterday! It's wood fiber (the insulation guy said paper) that is borate-treated to prevent it from burning.
Apparently, it has such a k-value that 30 cm of this tightly packed insulation is equivalent to about 55 cm of regular insulation, which should not be packed.
It became quiet and warm up there... that's as much experience as we have so far.

I don't believe that for a moment!Subscream said:
EkoVilla has a lambda value of 0.041 while mineral wool has 0.037, i.e., the mineral wool insulates about 11% better!
Your 30 cm EkoVilla therefore corresponds to approx. 27 cm of mineral wool!
