Insulation and panel on wall? How?

The wall of the fireplace in our vacation home is constructed so that it forms part of the exterior wall. The back of the wall is therefore "outside" and consists of red brick. We have now replaced the roof and insulated the chimney and clad it with metal but are unsure how to handle the rest of the wall. I would prefer to insulate it and clad it with the same panel as the rest of the house. I've considered screwing steel studs into the brick and insulating with a fire blanket, air gap, and panel.

Are there any issues with this? Could the chimney sweep have any opinions, and is an inspection required to get this approved?

How wide is the wall you want to cover? And how wide is the chimney? Brick is a fireproof material in itself, so you don't need any insulation on that side. As I see it, 3 cm of air gap between the frame and the brick should be sufficient. There is always a risk of moisture/condensation otherwise. Note that a nail in the wrong place can conduct heat and cause a fire. The chimney sweep doesn't care about what you do on that side... Inspection is doubtful. But photograph the work as it's being done so you have documentation of it.

Thank you for the response. The idea with the insulation is mainly to block some of the cold that the wall brings into the room since it is completely uninsulated.

How wide is the wall you want to cover?? and how much of it is chimney???
Is the wall equally wide on the inside then??
If you could upload pictures so one can see both sides that would be great!!
