I was thinking of replacing the façade on two sides of my old tool shed (the rest next year). And if I'm going to do this, it might be a good idea to add some insulation and wind barrier.
The building won't become a 21-degree, year-round building. I don't know what it will be—a carpenter's workshop, garage, sauna, dog kennel. Maybe with a little maintenance heating.
So adding some insulation just in case wouldn't be a bad idea?
But how much insulation?
There are many different dimensions on the timber. The logs at the bottom, corners, and top are 10 cm deep. Should I add some wood to have thicker insulation?
Wood boards on the inside, wind barrier on the outside, air gap, and paneling.
Anything else to consider?

My goal is to achieve straight and tidy paneling like this:

Isn't it easier to install the insulation from the outside when you are already tearing down the panel?
A reasonable option might be to stick with the 10 cm that goes in now, and then when it's decided what it will be, to add extra insulation on the inside with an additional layer of 45 - 95 mm?

I can imagine making my 100mm post deeper by adding timber on the outside of the posts, then new paneling, so I can have, say, 120 or 145 insulation if it would make a big difference if the building is to have maintenance heat during the winter. If that day comes, I will make two-story plans all the way and can then add insulation in the "attic."
