Hello!

I hope I'm posting in the right forum section; otherwise, the moderator is welcome to move the thread. I have also searched but can't find the information I'm looking for, hence this thread.

We are on the verge of signing a contract to have a company furnish the upper floor of our Smålandsvilla.
Since it will have 3 bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom, we are considering whether it's worth insulating the interior walls or not.

Does it make a big difference? The idea is that since it will be bedrooms, extra soundproofing might be worth having. Sound may come through the doors as the door and frame aren't completely sealed between each other.

We need to give feedback soon, so we're checking with you what you think.

Best regards

Insulate!
It makes a huge difference in terms of sound. The walls and the house will also feel more robust. Without insulation, walls can sound like "bongo drums" when you're doing something.
You will definitely regret it if you don't insulate.

We will also furnish the upper floor and will insulate the interior walls. The additional cost is not particularly large since we already have the insulation and will do the insulation ourselves. To be able to utilize the living room that is adjacent to all the bedrooms, I also think it's necessary.
