Hello.

I am going to help a friend figure out a solution to insulate the roof of an old log cabin, but I want to proceed cautiously to preserve as much of the timber as possible. The idea is to leave all the walls untouched and only work on the roof, leaving the beams exposed. They want to make as few alterations as possible to the beautiful house while making it livable. How would you go about insulating this?

Hi!

Unfortunately, I can't be of much help. Wondering if you've come up with a good solution? I will insulate a very similar roof in a log cabin on the property this summer.

Hello. Well, we haven't really decided yet what to do, but we're leaning towards installing diffusion-open and wood fiber insulation directly against the roof without an air gap.

Okay, good luck with the construction!
