Opinions on thinking like this? Summary after some forum searching and googling.
We are going to enclose an outdoor balcony on an intermediate floor of about 6 sqm. It has two facade walls, so there will be two glass walls. Concrete bottom and metal railings. With the enclosure, the hired company will also add an inner wall of metal against the railing. But they do not do anything else.
The plan is to buy 60mm thick foam ourselves and place it between the metal posts in the railing before they enclose it. Also, we plan to cut fiberglass insulation and insert it in the gaps towards the balcony above and below. Once they have installed the glass and inner wall, we will lay Ebisol on the bottom against the concrete floor, then 20mm foam on top of that. Finally, an inner floor.
Considering moisture, cold, etc., will this be reasonably durable and okay? Will we experience chemical reactions with water and bad odor? Will the effect of the insulation be completely pointless compared to not insulating at all? Since the floor will be dry and clean after the enclosure, we want to be able to walk there in socks, have some insensitive furniture, etc.
