Hello,

I am in the process of building knee walls, uninsulated and only 450mm high, on the upper floor and plan to install access panels for two reasons;

1) In one place there is a vent to the sewer and in the same part of the floor there are pre-installed water pipes (though not connected), which may be used at some point in the future.

2) The mice. Despite the fact that I have probably eradicated the population after a year of attrition war, you know how it can be, so the idea is to be able to throw in a trap or a cat now and then so that the insulation isn't destroyed by mouse tunnels.

How large should the access panel be for the part where the plumbing is? The others should be fine with an access panel 150x150?

Grateful for tips.

H
There are ready-made hatches available for purchase. Approx. 400*700 or 400*400. They have a frame, hatch, and locking mechanism. 150*150 is very small if you need to reach further in.

Surely you can get a cat through an inspection hatch of 150x150mm :D, the question is just how to get it out again :x

Yes, that's exactly what I've been looking at. So the standard for a plumbing inspection hatch is around 400*X?

Best regards,
