Hello,

The garage is built and now the upstairs is to be furnished.

When I'm sitting and reading the instructions that Älvsbyhus sends along, it says that you shouldn't have any insect nets behind the vents or at the roof truss foot. I don't understand why, but I assume they mean that the ventilation would be worse.

But shouldn't you have it? Not so cozy with large wasp nests inside the walls.

Sounds extremely strange. Call Älvsbyhus and ask what the heck they mean. I would really like to know why you shouldn't have insect nets. It can't affect the ventilation other than marginally. I promise that two thousand wasps affect the ventilation more.. :)

I've never heard the like. It must be a cost-saving measure on their part. Though a foolish one.

No, no...

No savings on their part. It says to REMOVE the insect net if you are going to furnish the upper floor. :o

Can't you check with them why they want that then?

I have emailed Älvsbyhus, but I'm not getting a response. I guess I'll have to call them. :(

Have now received a response from Älvsbyhus on why they recommend removing the insect net. They believe there is a risk that it could freeze up during winter.

But they seem to be the only ones who think so, or?

I have never heard of it being a problem that they freeze again. But I have heard that insects can be... :)

Well, you certainly hear/read a lot...

Of course, you should have net!

If the nets are already there, I probably wouldn't remove them, but I haven't put nets on my house. Personally, I don't think you have much chance of keeping the insects out. They probably find their way in.
